Vicci Martinez sailed through her first audition on NBC's The Voice two weeks ago with a rocking performance of Adele's hit song, Rolling in the Deep, and last night, the 26-year-old Tacoma, Washington native gave a flawless performance of Pink's "Perfect" in a heated battle with fellow contestant Niki Dawson. The feisty Dawson attacked the song with gusto and worked the stage with the confidence of a seasoned performer, but none of that proved to be a match for Vicci, whose bluesy voice and personality won over Cee Lo Green, who told Vicci he loved her "war dance" and said that she had " a gut-wrenching effect" on him.
Over on XTina's team, Broadway alum Frenchie Davis, who was disqualified from American Idol eight years ago over a topless-picture scandal, sang Beyonce's "Put a Ring on It" in another heated battle with contestant Tarralyn Ramsey. Both girls gave exciting performances, but in the end, Christina chose Frenchie to advance to the next round. “You both worked it and got everyone having fun,” she said. “But I think Frenchie took it tonight.”
