It doesn't get much better than this, mi gente!
Last night on the two-hour American Idol finale, Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony brought the crowd to their feet with an explosive performance of "Aguanile" — a song by Hector Lavoe that they also covered in their 2007 biopic, El Cantante based on the famous salseros life. Marc started off the performance by singing alone on stage — his vocals were incredible! — then J.Lo joined her hubby on stage and enhanced the show with a kickass salsa performance (she even shook what her mama gave her to the sounds of Marc's soulful bravado).
The performance was full of passion and when Lopez started salsa dancing with a slew of backup dancers, she ensured that her and Marc's performance would be the best of the night (scratch that, of the entire Idol season). This is why she's one of the biggest stars in the world! At the end of their stellar performance, J.Lo and Marc shared a sweet kiss and host Ryan Seacrest joked, "Now we know what they do at home!"
Between Scotty McCreery being crowned the first Latino to win Idol, and this performance, perhaps FOX should consider renaming this show, Latin American Idol?
