When Rob Schneider, star of the new CBS sitcom Rob!, visited the set of The Talk on Tuesday to promote his new show, he brought along his Latino co-stars Cheech Marin and Claudia Bassols to help spread the word about the new Latino family comedy on the block.
It turns out that Schneider’s wife came up with the concept for the show. He told Aisha Tyler, “My wife, she’s from Mexico, this show was her idea.” He certainly has a funny way of impersonating a Mexican accent though! When he was attempting to imitate his wife’s Mexican accent, Tyler said jokingly, “Are you married to Al Pacino, Rob?”
Schneider is exited to be working with another movie legend, though. Mexican-American Up In Smoke actor Marin plays Schneider’s father-in-law. Marin joked, “It’s great for me, because I get 150 hours of court mandated community service out of it.”
While beautiful Spanish actress Bassols may play Schneider’s on-screen wife, Tyler made sure to note his ideal situation. She said, “Your wife is so beautiful, and so is Claudia [his TV wife], so you’re in a happy sandwich right now.”
