Is "The View" Getting a Latin Makeover?

In its 14 seasons on the air, ABC’s hit talk show, The View, has never had a Latina as a full-time host. But that may soon change.

According to the New York Post, newsmagazine "Extra" — which successfully launched the television spinoff, Celebrity Justice and the upcoming Dr. Drew's Lifechangers — is quietly developing a Latina take on The View, which has tentatively been titled, Chit Chat

The show's two main co-hosts are Ann Lopez, (George Lopez's ex-wife who famously gave the comedian a kidney back in 2005), and Constance Marie, who played Lopez's TV wife, Angie on ABC's The George Lopez Show for five years. Julissa Bermudez, who is best known for hosting BET's music countdown show, 106 & Park and Cheeta Girl, Sabrina Bryan are also on board as hosts.

"Extra" reportedly tested Chit Chat last month as a half-hour special on Christmas Day and singer, Juanes was one of the show's first guests. That episode will re-air on NBC on Sunday, January 23rd.

We couldn't be more excited about the possibility of a Latinized "View" spinoff, especially since Latinos are what's missing from Daytime TV. Take our poll below and tell us what other Latinas you would like to see hosting Chit Chat
