Congrats to Eva Longoria. According to TV Line, the 36-year-old Mexican American actress has just been nominated for a People's Choice Award in the category, Favorite TV Drama Actress for her role as Gaby Solis in ABC's hit show, Desperate Housewives.
Longoria's fellow nominees include, Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s Anatomy), Emily Deschanel (Bones), and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries).
According to TV Line, fans can vote for their favorite choices from now until Dec. 6 at the awards ceremony’s official website. Voting can also take place via social media such as Facebook, Twitter and mobile devices. The 2012 People’s Choice Awards will air live on Jan. 11 at at 9/8 c on CBS.
Longoria isn’t the only Latina nominated at the awards ceremony next year. Our December/January cover girl Demi Lovato is nominated for Favorite Pop Artist, and part-Cuban Cameron Diaz is nominated for Favorite Comedic Movie Actress. Modern Family, (the hit ABC show starring Colombian actress Sofia Vergara) is also up for an award, for Favorite Network TV Comedy. Just Jared recently reported that Lovato, besides being nominated this year, is also set to perform live. We wonder if the song of choice will be her hit ballad "Skyscraper" or another song from her Unbroken album.
"Moves Like Jagger," the hit song by part-Ecuadorian singer Christina Aguilera, is up for Song of The Year. NBC news anchor Natalie Morales also shares a nomination with her Today colleagues for Favorite Daytime TV Host.
We can't forget about our men; our main man Pitbull is up for Favorite Hip Hop Artist and Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias is pitted against part-Puerto Rican crooner Bruno Mars for Favorite Male Artist. Mars is also up for Favorite R&B Artist.
This is Desperate Housewives’ final season and though we are sad to see its end, we hope to see Longoria finish it off with a bang – should she win. Congrats to the other nominees!
