'Ugly Betty' Moves in to New York Neighborhood

For New Yorkers, the neighborhood just got a little uglier. The cast and crew of the hit show Ugly Betty have officially moved in. For the show's third season, ABC has relocated the entire production from Los Angeles to New York, where the show takes place.

"I'm totally not unpacked and still living out of a suitcase," Ana Ortiz told People magazine at the Ugly Betty block party in the Jackson Heights neighborhood in Queens, New York, Thursday. "But I'm crashing at my mom's place right now."

Still, home sweet home isn't too far away for Hilda Suarez. "We found a perfect place in Brooklyn Heights," Ana Ortiz said of her and husband Noah Lebenzon, who she revealed to us is "kind of looking at it as like a new adventure."

Ana had a leg up on her costars, being a New York native. "I grew up on the Upper West Side...well, up in Washington Heights, and then the Upper West Side," Ana told us. She may have been raised an uptown girl, but these days Ana is Brooklyn all the way. "I love the neighborhood. It's really mellow, gorgeous and a great place to raise a family. I couldn't resist," she revealed. "I'm looking forward to being a mom."

Ana's costar America Ferrera has a similar connection to the Big Apple. "I love living in New York City," she said. "I fee like I was here in a past life." America has already adopted a New York state of mind: "I take the subway all the time," she says. "I took the 7 [train] for the first time the other day. I went over to Queens and hung out over the weekend. It was great!"

For Mark Indelicato, who plays Justin, the youngest member of the Suarez clan, moving to New York brings him closer to his first inspiration: the Broadway stage. "I definitely want to start to see Broadway shows," he says. "That's why I got involved in the business. So hopefully I will get to see as many as I can."

Even papi can feel the excitment. Tony Plana, who plays Ignacio Suarez, told us "it is a dream come true, and for my daughter to have the privilege to experience high school in New York City..I think New York couldn't be a better place for her."

We're beyond excited to have our favorite characters closer to home...even evil Wilhelmina. Wonder if this means we can expect more of New York's finest fashionistas to be making guest-starring stops at the Mode offices?
