It’s been nearly three years since Ugly Betty’s final bow on April 14, 2010, with the Suarez sisters moving out of their Queens, New York home to begin new chapters in their lives. But even though the beloved Golden Globe-winning dramedy for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical came to an end after four superb seasons on ABC, the show has gone on for the Betty and the gang. Here’s a look back at what some of our favorite cast members have been up to lately.

America Ferrera (Betty Suarez)
Playing Beatriz U. Suarez made America Ferrera an international star. Her portrayal of the fashion-challenged-magazine-assistant-turned-stylish-editor landed her a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and Primetime Emmy. After leaving Betty behind at her new job in London, Ferrera earned raves for her guest-starring role on The Good Wife, voiced one of the characters in the blockbuster 3D computer-animated film How to Train Your Dragon and played Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in London's West End. She’ll next star as César Chávez’s wife Helena Fabela Chávez in the Diego Luna-directed biopic about the Mexican American labor leader and civil rights activist.
Tony Plana (Ignacio Suarez)
It’s hard to see Tony Plana as anything but Betty Suarez’s doting father Ignacio on Ugly Betty. But in 2011, the Cuban-American actor had us saying “¡No puede ser!” when he guest-starred on Desperate Housewives as Gabrielle Solis’ (Eva Longoria) abusive stepfather, Alejandro Perez. Plan, who also guest-starred on ABC’s Body of Proof, teaches acting at California State University, Dominguez Hills and Rio Hondo College.
Ana Ortiz (Hilda Suarez)
Hilda Suarez may have moved out of her father’s house to live with her son and boyfriend in the final episode of Ugly Betty, but her portrayer Ana Ortiz went on to land a side-splitting recurring role as a sex-crazed police offer on HBO’s Hung. Next, she’ll move to Beverly. Hills, that is. The half-Puerto Rican actress will be playing ambitious sirvienta Marisol in Lifetime’s highly anticipated series Devious Maids.
Mark Indelicato (Justin Suarez)
It’s hard to believe Mark Indelicato, who portrayed Betty’s fashion-obsessed nephew, is all grown up. Following his stint on Ugly Betty, the 18-year-old actor, singer and fashion blogger appeared on a special episode of Dr. Phil about teens bullied after coming out. He shared his experience of receiving numerous death threats and verbal abuse from people for his role on the ABC dramedy. Indelicato, currently a student at New York University, also guest-starred on TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland and will next appear in the drama White Bird in a Blizzard.
Freddy Rodriguez (Giovanni “Gio” Rossi)
I’ll take a BLT, please! Everyone’s favorite sandwich seller and Betty’s one-time suitor, the adorable Freddy Rodriguez, didn’t get the girl in the end. But the Puerto Rican actor did land his own television series, CBS’ short-lived CHAOS, where he played CIA special operative Rick Martinez. And he recently appeared in two-episode arc on TNT’s Perception, as well as starred in the television movie Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden.
Adam Rodriguez (Bobby Talercio)
He’s best known for portraying Eric Delko on CBS’s long-running series CSI: Miami, but Adam Rodriguez managed to win Hilda’s heart all over again when appeared in the show’s final season as Bobby Talercio, Hilda’s high school sweetheart who came back into the picture when he served as Justin’s driver’s ed teacher. And it’s crystal clear what she saw in him after watching Rodriguez in last summer’s male stripper movie Magic Mike. Whoa Nelly! He’ll next appear in Fox’s midseason series The Goodwin Games, with his Ugly Betty co-star Becki Newton.
Kevin Alejandro (Santos)
It looks like Kevin Alejandro likes leaving his projects in dramatic fashion. Following his shooting death as Santos Santos – Hilda’s late fiancé and Justin's father – during a store robbery, Alejandro went on to face shocking deaths on TNT’s Southland and HBO’s True Blood. Here’s hoping Alejandro’s next role as Christian Arroyo on CBS’ Golden Boy, premiering on February 26, won’t end in the same scandalous way!
Eddie Cibrian (Coach Tony Diaz)
It’s no surprise that Hilda flirted with Justin’s gym teacher Coach Tony Diaz, portrayed by Eddie Cibrian. The man is F-I-N-E, FINE! Following his skin-baring role on Betty, the Cuban-American actor went on to star in Lifetime’s Northern Lights, a television movie clouded in controversy after Cibrian’s affair with LeAnn Rimes. Most recently, he starred on CSI: Miami and the short-lived The Playboy Club. And, he’ll next be part of a battle of the hunks when he stars opposite William Levy in Tyler Perry’s Single Moms Club.
Salma Hayek (Sofia Reyes)
Salma Hayek pulled double-duty on Ugly Betty. Not only did she serves as one of the show’s executive producer, but she guest-starred as MYW Editor-In-Chief Sofia Reyes, the woman who manipulated Daniel into falling in love with and proposing to her so she could make him the subject of her magazine’s premiere issue. The role earned the Mexican actress a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress – Comedy Series. This year, she’ll reprise her guest-starring role as Elisa Padriera on NBC’s 30 Rock, as well as star in the sequel to Adam Sandler’s comedy Grown Ups.
Lauren Vélez (Elena)
Lauren Vélez may be best known for her tough girl roles on Dexter, New York Undercover and HBO's prison drama Oz. But the Puerto Rican actress charmed America as Ignacio’s nurse-turned-love-interest Elena on Ugly Betty. And it broke our hearts when he ended their relationship after learning that she’d been offered a job in California. Vélez, who recently ended her seven-year run with a bullet on Showtime’s Dexter, is currently working on They Call Me La Lupe, a biopic about Cuban singer La Lupe.
