We knew it would happen and now it has: ABC has officially picked up Better Together—a multi-camera comedy pilot starring Joanna Garcia!
Executive produced by Shana Goldberg-Meehan (of Friends fame), Better Together centers on two sisters who are at different points in their romantic relationships. The older sis is unmarried and in a long-term relationship and the other (Garcia) gets married after getting knocked up. Joanna joins the series fresh off a series of guest starring roles on several shows, including How I Met Your Mother and Gossip Girl. This is her second leading role on television after starring in the CW’s short-lived series, Privileged (2008).
In other TV news, Ecuadorian actor, Michael Steger, who plays journalist Navid Shirazi on the CW’s 90210, will guest star on an episode of HBO’s True Blood. Steger will play a gay prostitute named Tony who gets picked up (Governor McGreevy-style) by the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare). For now, Steger is only expected to appear on one episode of the show's third season, but rumor has it he could return in season 4 as a recurring character. Who knows what that could mean for his role on 90210?
Are you excited for my homegirl Joanna Garcia? Do you think anyone would pay to have vampire sex with Michael Steger?
