When MTV’s Teen Wolf returns for its third season, there will be one familiar face missing among the other members of the cast. It was reported last month that Colton Haynes, who played Jackson Whitmore, will not be returning to the show.

The cast, led by part-Mexican star Tyler Posey, was just as surprised as the fans when it came to Haynes’ exit. They learned the news of their friend’s departure right along with the show's devotees.

“There was talk about him doing this after the first season so we were kind of used to it, but then it actually happened,” stated Posey according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It definitely sucks, it’s definitely weird. It’s gonna be weird to film it without him, but we have a good group of people on our show and we’ll survive.”

The season premiere will open with a four month lapse in time that will explain the absence of Haynes’ character. Posey and the rest of the Teen Wolf cast, sans Haynes, return to filming December 3, 2012.
