"SYTYCD" Choreographer Charged with Rape

Brazilian choreographer Alex Da Silva, 41, who has worked on the insanely popular dance competition show So You Think You Can Dance was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting four women just a few short months after being cleared of previous rape-related charges.

After being arrested at his North Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday morning, the SYTYCD star was charged with eight felony counts of assault, including four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object. The Los Angeles District attorney says that the assaults occurred between August 2002 and March 2009 and that the victims were all dancers between the ages of 20 and 26 who met Alex through his dance instruction classes.

Da Silva was arrested for almost the exact same crimes back in April, but prosecutors were unable to press charges, saying further investigation and evidence was needed to move the case forward. The choreographer is currently being held on $6.2 million bail.
