This summer promises to be one of the best summer TV seasons yet! There are vampires, werewolves, suburban drug dealers, pregnant teens—and plenty of Mad Men—to keep you entertained all summer long. Here are Latina.com’s picks for the best summer shows starring Latin actors!
True Blood
Sunday, June 13 at 9 p.m. (HBO)
When True Blood’s second season came to an end last August, we almost cried. The idea of waiting nine months for the continuation of one of TV’s most epic romances—that of Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Ana Paquin) really, sucked! (Pun intended). But rest assured fellow fang-lovers: True Blood is back in June! In the new season, we’ll be introduced to a host of new characters—including a pack of werewolves, Sookie’s fairy godmother, and the Vampire King of Mississipi (played by brilliant character actor, Denis O’Hare). More importantly, Mexican actor Kevin Alejandro(Southland) joins the cast in the recurring role of Lafayette’s (Nelsan Ellis) love interest, Jesus Velasquez—a good-natured orderly hired to care for Lafayette’s mother (Alfre Woodard). Rumor has it, Jesus isn’t human! But then, who is in Bon Temps?
