Someone get Salma Hayek a broomstick, stat!

Variety is reporting that the award-winning Mexican actress and producer is developing an 8-hour miniseries for ABC based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 book, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West — the novel that inspired the long-running Broadway musical, Wicked, which made its Broadway debut in 2003.

The show is being co-produced by ABC in association with Hayek's production company, Ventanarosa Productions.

This isn't Hayek's only project at ABC. In November, it was widely reported that her production company will also be adapting the Argentine telenovela, Los Roldan, for the alphabet network this year.
