Jennifer Lopez will be performing live from Times Square, NYC at 11PM on the ABC and Ryan Seacrest has everything to do with it! So how did the American Idol host not only convince J.Lo to perform, but get her to perform live? New Year's Rockin' Eve producer Larry Klein says it all started at the American Music Awards. "Jennifer was onstage in rehearsals at the AMA's, and her manager Benny Medina was sitting next to me, and I said, 'Right now, I'm looking at Times Square, New Year's Eve. You've got to join us that night.'"
But it wasn't a done deal, Lopez was in need of some serious wooing before she went along with the New Year's plans. "It started there [at the AMAs], and then, no kidding, Marc and Jennifer came over to my house and literally walked through what it would be like in Times Square, and now we've got a stage built here [in that spot in my house]. That's exactly what happened," explained Seacrest. "It's a small house! You can put that in there," joked the host.
And J.Lo isn't going to be the only Latina diva on hand to help Seacrest and legendary media personality Dick Clark ring in the New Year. Fergie will be hosting some segments from LA and Las Vegas, and Selena Gomez is also set to perform a song off of her new album Kiss & Tell.
