Recasting 'The Golden Girls': The Classic Sitcom Gets A Latin Makeover!

Greece, Turkey, Russia, the U.K. and various Latin American countries have remade the classic 80s sitcom, The Golden Girls, and this fall—Spain will join the party with a remake entitled, Las Chicas de Oro. All of these re-imaginings got us thinking about how The Golden Girls would look with our dream cast.

Shelley Morrison, 73, as Dorothy Petrillo Zbornak

Dorothy—played by Bea Arthur—was the smarty-pants of the four golden girls.  She was often the voice of reason who had to knock some sense into the rest of the crew. Enter Spanish actress, Shelley Morrison. When it comes to stone-cold grilling—there’s no actress on the planet more talented than Morrison. Remember the looks she gave Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) as maid Rosario Salazar on Will & Grace?  Priceless!
