On last week’s emotional episode of Project Runway, contestants were asked to create print fabric inspired by their past. The winning design belonged to contestant Mondo Guerra, who created a bright and bold fashion-forward outfit that represented his Positive HIV status—which he had been hiding from his family for 10 years. “I feel a lot better. I feel free,” said Guerra, after sharing his long kept secret with the world.

The 32-year-old season 8 cast member broke the news to his strictly religious family only five days before the show aired. Thankfully, his family was vey supportive and very proud of their son.

Guerra is one of the superstars of Project Runway's 8th season and has three consecutive wins.

Project Runway airs tonight at 9 pm et/pt on Lifetime.
