According to Hugo Chavez, Bart Simpson is not suitable for children. The Venezuelan president has banned The Simpsons from the airwaves for being too risqué for little ones, claiming that the show is in danger of breaking the country's Law of Responsibility in Radio and Television.
"It had to be taken off," said Elba Guillen, a spokeswoman for Televen TV station. "The government considers it to be a series that isn't appropriate for that time because it isn't appropriate for children." The show's 11am timeslot will now be filled by...Baywatch.
Yes, you read that correctly. Animated series The Simpsons has been deemed too hot for television, and the ample-bosomed, slow-motion running babes of Baywatch are perfectly family friendly fare.
Ironically, it seems to us that with his crazy policies and whacky sense of logic, Hugo Chavez is resembling Homer Simpson more and more each day. D'oh!
