The first season of singer Jenni Rivera’s reality show, Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C was seen by nearly four million people on Telemundo’s Mun2—making it the network’s highest rated original reality series.
Diana Mogollon, the General Manager of Mun2, announced yesterday that Rivera has signed on for a second season of the show, which will get a new name, Jenni Rivera Presents, when it returns in Spring 2011.
"We are thrilled to partner with Jenni for yet another season of Jenni Rivera Presents," said Mogollon. "Jenni is not only a female icon in a male-dominated world of regional Mexican music, but also a mother, an entrepreneur and a uniquely American Latina. Like our audience, she celebrates the best of both worlds, and we're excited to offer viewers more Rivera fun."
Rivera seems genuinely excited about doing a second season of the hit show.
"I am pleased and excited to share more of my life with my fans," she said. "In the second season of our reality show, viewers will see that a diva's life can actually be as normal and complicated as their own. Welcome to our world!"
According to Mun2, the second season of the show will be a spin off of Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C, except that Raq-C (Jenni’s daughter Chiquis’ best friend and a well-known local radio personality) will no longer be a part of the revamped show. The new show will focus more on Jenni, Chiquis and the growing Rivera family and businesses.
