The nominees for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards were announced today – and we’re excited to see some of our celebs in the running to snag an award (or two, or three...)!

First up is Bruno Mars, whose music video for “Locked Out of Heaven” received a nomination for, you guessed it, “Video of the Year.” The 27-year-old of part-Puerto Rican descent has been a darling of the VMAs for a few years now, having been nominated numerous times before for past work. “Locked Out of Heaven” is also nominated for “Best Male Video” and “Best Pop Video.”

It’s important to note that former Disney darling Selena Gomez is running against Mars for “Best Pop Video,” for the 20-year-old's ginormous hit “Come and Get It” – which is her first #1 by the way. So if you don’t know, now you know.

Mars’ “Treasure” is also nominated for “Best Choreography.”
