Michael Bearden Named Band Leader for George Lopez Talk Show

Musician Michael Bearden has signed on as musical director of George Lopez’s upcoming TBS Talk Show, Lopez Tonight, Variety reports. The Mexican comedian’s show will debut Nov. 9 and will air at 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Bearden is a mammoth in the music game. He was the musical director for Michael Jackson and can be seen in the upcoming film This Is It, which chronicles Jackson’s rehearsals before his death. He's also worked with Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin and Destiny's Child.

"Music is going to be a big part of Lopez Tonight. Having him a part of the show illustrates how seriously we take music," exec producer Jim Paratore told Variety. We sure can’t wait for this party to start.
