On Monday, Deadline announced that Starz, the masterminds behind Power, are developing a fictional drama series based on the life of five-time Grammy Award winning star. The series, which is set to begin in 1986 New York City, will follow the rise of an ambitious bi-racial 16-year-old girl, who overcomes a difficult childhood to become the biggest selling female music artist of all time.

Since her release of ‘Vision of Love,’ her first single from her debut album, the Long Island-bred star has been recognized as a worldwide sensation. From selling the third most records for a female performer in history to being named the Female Artist of the Millennial, this chart-topping diva is a force to reckon with.

The ‘We Belong Together’ singer will executive produce the show alongside long time friend Brett Ratner, while Nina Colman will write and serve as showrunner.

However, this is not the first time the mother-of-two have been the subject of a show. Last year, Mimi starred in her own docu-series for E! called Mariah’s World.
