At tonight's Screen Actor's Guild Awards, Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez lost to Al Pacino for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series or Movie.
Pacino won the award for his portrayal of Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the HBO biopic, You Don't Know Jack. Ramirez was nominated for his portrayal of Venezuelan revolutionary Ilich Ramírez Sánchez in the five and a half hour-long movie, Carlos. Earlier this month, Ramirez lost to Pacino at the Golden Globe Awards.
In December, the humble Ramirez, 33, told us what it meant to him to be nominated in the same category as the acting legend. "It's a dream and such an honor! I'm a huge, huge fan. He's one of the reasons I wanted to be an actor, so you can imagine."
