Lesbians, Bisexuals Love Sara Ramirez

She's not gay, but she plays one on TV—and that might be just the career boost Sara Ramirez has been looking for. The voluptuous Latina, heretofore best known for dancing on national television in pink underpants and getting royally dumped by Dr. George O'Malley on the hit show Grey's Anatomy, has jumped from No. 80 to No. 9 on AfterEllen.com's Hot 100 list—the biggest leap of any star this year. The Hot 100 list is compiled by votes of more than 100,000 gay and bisexual women around the world.

Sara's character on Grey's, Dr. Callie Torres, came out as a lesbian on this season of the hit show, but don't think that had anything to do with Sara's ranking on the Hot 100 list: voting closed before her character came out. Still, we can't underestimate the powers of gaydar, and Sara has done her part for the LGBT cause in the past, creating a series of Spanish PSA's for GLAAD about homophobia.

Felicidades, Sara! Women obviously know true beauty when they see it.
