Latino Designers Rise to the Challenge on Season 8 of 'Project Runway'

Latin Presence on Season 8 of Project Runway

Nina Garcia isn’t the only Latino viewers are tuning in to see on season eight of Project Runway. Two Latino contestants—freelance designer Mondo Guerra, 32, and fashion designer Casanova, 33—help stir up the drama and keep us (and the clothes they create) in stiches.

While Guerra is rather calm, cool and collected, Casanova is anything but. From episode one, the Puerto Rican designer nearly broke down after his spanking new, $1,070 Dolce & Gabbana pants became Valerie’s newly designed dress in the first challenge. Although he’s been on the chopping block on more than one occasion, Casanova is last week’s challenge winner (giving him immunity for next week’s elimination). On the other hand, Mondo got an early start, winning the episode 2 challenge.

You can catch Project Runway on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
