Our Favorite Latino Characters From AMC's Hit 'Breaking Bad'

We have been obsessed with AMC's critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad since we were first introduced to the desperate chemistry teacher who learns he has terminal cancer, Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston), and the rest of the colorful cast. Now a self-made kingpin, it’s obvious Walt is willing to do anything to stay at the top of his game. In honor of the show, we are counting down our favorite Latino characters on the show. Who is your favorite?

1. Breaking Bad: Steven Michael Quezada

Steven Michael Quezada as Steven Gomez

The Albuquerque native plays DEA agent Steven Gomez, Hank Schrader’s (played by Dean Norris) right hand man and partner in the AMC hit show. In an interview with the network, Steven explained how much the role has changed his life, “I'm able to raise more money for children and give back to the community that supported me for my whole career, mostly through [an organization called] YDI (Youth Development Inc).”

2. Breaking Bad: Emily Rios

Emily Rios as Andrea Cantillo

The 23-year-old Mexican actress first hit the scene in her breakout role as Magdalena in the hit indie flick, Quinceañera. She was first introduced as Jesse Pickman’s (played by Aaron Paul) love interest, mother, and a recovering addict in the 4th season of the drama series.

3. Breaking Bad: Luis & Daniel Moncada

Luis Moncada as Marco Salamanca & Daniel Moncada as Leonel Salamanca

Real-life brothers, Luis and Marco played "The Cousins" in the 4th season of Breaking Bad. They may have been instant eye candy the moment they hit the television screen, but they were also badass gangsters ready to avenge their cousin Tuco’s death. These fellas never spoke much, but they lived by the saying, ‘family is everything,’ until the end.

4. Breaking Bad: Raymond Cruz

Raymon Cruz as Tuco Salamanca

Before Bryan Cranston’s lead role as Walter White took over Tuco’s territory, he was the major kingpin in town throughout the seasons until he was killed off in season 3. The Mexican actor has been in several films including, Training Day and Alien Resurrection. He’s best known for his role as Detective Julio Sanchez on USA's The Closer.

5. Breaking Bad: Cesar Garcia

Cesar Garcia as Gonzo

The Mexican actor played gangster Gonzo, who dies in a junkyard during the second season of the show. His character was short-lived, but he’s expected to star in several independent films, including Crosstown, later this year.

6. Breaking Bad: Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo as Tortuga

The gruesome image of Danny Trejo’s head on a turtle still haunts us. Could we expect anything less from the Machete star?
