A promo for her new Netflix series' Ingobernable has been released and in it we see her play the First Lady Irene Urzua of Mexico while Erik Hayser is playing President Diego Nava. The promo looks like a Christmas message but once the cameras cut, we see their are marital problems between the two.

Castillo's character is described as a woman with "a strong personality, conviction, and clear ideas" who is capable of “creating a president, leaving a president and killing a president.”

The series was originally picked up by Netflix in the summer of 2015 before Castillo's ties to El Chapo were revealed. It was also supposed to be filmed in Mexico but will now be filmed in San Diego due to Castillo's fear of going back to Mexico. From the looks of it, we get a dramatized look at Mexico's corrupt political class.
