Remember when Jennifer Lopez was a Fly Girl on the 90s series In Living Color? Google it if you’re too young. TV Line is reporting that the sketch comedy series that helped launch the 42-year-old Boricua superstar’s career – and others – will be brought back to life.
According to the website, Fox announced last Friday its plans to resurrect the series, which was originally created and written by brothers Keenen and Damon Wayans, who also starred in the show.
Keenen will serve as the host and executive producer of the new version, which will feature a brand new cast of fresh faces, as well as musical performances.
In addition to launching J.Lo’s career, In Living Color was also very good to the careers of Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey – both huge stars in their own right. TV Line reports that the new reiteration of In Living Color is set to air in spring 2012 and will be made up of two half-hour specials. Should the specials meet with success, we will be see the show as a regular series as early as next fall.
Though we know she can hardly breathe (we don’t mean that literally) with the heap of projects she has on her plate, we wonder if La Lopez will be making a cameo appearance. It would be great to see her don that bold lipstick and bust out 90s dance moves again. One can wish…
