Two Latinos (Xenia and Raquel Castro) performed on last week's episode of NBC's The Voice, and this week the two other Latinos in the competition (Javier Colon and Vicci Martinez) had their chance to wow the judges (and America).
The Voice kicked off last night's show with the announcement of who was being sent home from Christina Aguilera's team. Host Carson Daily quickly announced that America had chosen rocker Beverly McClellan to move on to the next round and then Daily asked Christina to choose one contestant to save out of the three remaining girls (Raquel Castro, Lily Elise and Frenchie Davis). Christina explained that Frenchie was a power singer and that as such, she felt she had to save her, thus sending Castro and Elise home.
While Raquel was sent packing, another Latina did manage to make it through to the next round: 16-year-old Xenia! She wasn't America's pick, but Blake Shelton, who we all know adores the bluesy singer, saved her over Jared Blake (a favorite in the competition), so she'll be back next week!
After the eliminations were revealed, it was time for Team Adam and Team Cee-Lo to show their stuff and two Latinos: Javier Colon and Vicci Martinez delivered the hottest performances of the night. Vicci rocked out to the Dolly Parton anthem "Jolene," demonstrating once again was a talented performer she is, while Colon, who is widely favored to win the competition, wowed the judges and America once again with a a pitch-perfect rendition of Sara McLachlan's "Angel." Javier also managed to steal the show when he performed "With A Little Help from My Friends" with Team Adam. Check out the videos from last night's performances below!
