Critically acclaimed Spanish actor Javier Bardem has played all kinds of roles throughout his prolific career: a gay poet, a quadriplegic, even a sociopathic killer. But a rock star?
Reportedly, the Academy Award-winning actor begged Glee Executive Producer Ryan Murphy—who is directing Bardem’s latest film, Eat, Pray, Love opening in August—for a guest spot on FOX’s runaway hit series. Murphy obliged and cast Bardem "as a rockstar who befriends Artie (Kevin McHale)." Rumor has it Bardem is a die-hard fan of the show and watched the entire first season of Glee in a week!
"We’re going to rock the house," Bardem said. "We’re going to do some heavy metal—Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."
No word yet on whether Javier will rock his No Country for Old Men pageboy haircut for the guest spot.
