You may remember the gorgeous Marisa Ramirez from her days playing Gia on ABC’s General Hospital. The 33-year-old actress is now playing one of the lead roles on Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena, which premiered on STARZ January 21st. The STARZ mini series is a prequel to the original Spartacus: Blood and Sand and is the story of Gannicus (actor Dustin Clare), who is the second gladiator to become champion of Capua. Ramirez plays the character Melitta, a slave to Lucy Lawless’ character, and wife of Oenomaus. The series has proved more popular than ever in its second season.
The stunning actress is originally from Los Angeles, California and is of Mexican (Afro-Latina), Irish and Native American descent. She began her career at age 13 as a model and later went on to do several guest appearances on Days of our Lives and The Bold and the Beautiful. Ramirez landed her big break playing supermodel Gia Campbell on General Hospital. She also starred on the short-lived prime time series Miracles and Mental. We’re excited to see what Ramirez’s character will be tackling this season and just as excited to see another Latina on TV!
