Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer is a triple threat (actress, dancer and singer) and one of the stars of the Nick Jr. live-action musical sitcom, The Fresh Beat Band.
On the show, which follows four best friends who go to music school together and love to sing and dance, Nacer plays a vivacious and spunky guitar player/dancer named Kiki. The 25-year-old Cuban star—who performs original songs on the hit show every week—has rocked out onscreen alongside big stars like Justin Bieber and Ne-Yo.
A Miami native, Nacer is the daughter of hardworking Cuban immigrants born in Havana and Santiago, Cuba, respectively.
Nacer is no stranger to the arts—she became immersed at an early age, learning to play the violin and the piano when she was three years old. The early training paid off big time for the talented thesp, who went on to attend the University of Miami on an opera scholarship. Later, with the Florida Grand Opera, she performed in Ireland, Thailand and Japan for royalty and heads of state! And she’s fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.
Nacer has also guest-starred on a host of TV shows including the WB hit 7th Heaven, the soap Guiding Light and most recently, she played the role of Vanessa in the national tour of Broadway’s Tony Award winning musical In the Heights.
In addition to her role on Fresh Beat Band, Nacer is currently in the studio producing songs for her debut album, and she’s a member of Global Green, a national environmental non-profit organization dedicated to fostering environmental initiatives.
With such a promising start, we know we’ll be seeing this green-minded young performer for years to come!
