Yesterday we reported the sad news that Lopez Tonight was canceled by TBS. The show’s host, George Lopez, was the first Latino to have a late night talk show. During last night’s episode, the 50-year-old Mexican American actor addressed his show’s cancellation with grace and comedy. “Did you guys see the news? Unemployment is at an all-time high and for Latinos, it just got a little higher!” he said.
Lopez also shared his future plans, but before he got serious, he made some jokes about going the way of Charlie Sheen, "Like every TV star before me, I'mma find some crack. I'mma get on the pipe! Lose that unwanted 110 pounds I wanted to lose. But I'm taking it good, I'm straight, believe me. I'm fine. My goddesses are a wreck..."
But Lopez is actually not lacking for work, he's already signed up for a stint in the Smurfs sequel, which was recently announced by Sony Pictures. “So today I lost some work because I’m brown but also I got some work because I’m blue,” Lopez joked. The talk show host also spoke about teaming up with musician Carlos Santana for the Divine Rascals tour. The tour, which is slated to run through October, will feature a set from Santana and a standup from Lopez.
