George Lopez Inks Deal to Star in New Latino Sitcom

George Lopez is the king of comeback!

The 50-year-old comedian has officially inked a deal with the television company Debmar-Mercury, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Lopez has co-created the new series, which will target Latino audiences. The network has ordered a 10-episode pilot and the numbers may increase depending on initial ratings.

The new show seems like a great project to bounce back from since the cancellation of Lopez’s late-night show on TBS last year. The Mexican American star also starred on the ABC TV sitcom The George Lopez Show for five years, which continues to air on syndication.
