Nickelodeon star, Victoria Justice is one of two Latin stars (the other is Juanes) scheduled to give a live performance at tomorrow’s 84th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, and the part Puerto Rican star told us she's feeling the pressure.
“I hear they get over 50 million TV viewers. That’s a lot of people watching!” the 17-year-old Justice told us. “I’m really, really excited and a little nervous."
Justice, the star of Nickelodeon’s Victorious , will be performing a new song from an upcoming one-hour special episode of her hit show called “Freak the Freak Out,” which premieres Friday, November 26.
“At first I was nervous that that song was chosen, because no one would've been familiar with it since [the episode] is premiering after Thanksgiving," said Justice. But then the execs at Nickelodeon calmed her fears. "They told me they were going to start airing the music video the Saturday before Thanksgiving so that fans would have a chance to get to know the song. I was so thrilled to hear that and really proud of the way the video turned out," she added.
The part Puerto Rican actress-singer says she's excited to see fellow Latino Juanes deliver the first Spanish language performance in the parade's 84-year history. "We need to be represented and Juanes is a great choice," said Justice who adds that her favorite Juanes song is "A Dios Le Pido."
"I am a Juanes fan," adds Justice. "I've watched videos of him performing and he sings from the heart. He really connects to his music and that translates to his fans."
Asked if she'd ever consider releasing a song in Spanish like fellow teen star Selena Gomez, Justice said, "I would absolutely love to. But not for a while and it would have to be the right song," she said.
