You might remember Tyler Posey as Jennifer Lopez’s adorable 11-year-old son Ty Ventura in the 2002 romantic comedy, Maid in Manhattan, but the part-Mexican actor is all grown up now and has a starring role in MTV's dark re-imagining of the Michael J. Fox 1985 cult-movie, Teen Wolf.
In the new series—which looks killer!—Posey plays Scott McCall, a high school student whose life is turned upside down when he’s mysteriously attacked by a wolf in the middle of the night. Days later he finds that the wolf bite has miraculously granted him powers and strange abilities that improve his performance on the lacrosse team and get him a date with the gorgeous new girl at school. Of course, his new powers come with a price.
The 19-year-old Posey told Latina.com exclusively what it means to him, as a Latino, to play the lead role in this highly anticipated new series. “I remember when I was a lot younger my mom would tell me that the projects I would be working on at the time were a way of giving back to the Latino community," says Posey. "I didn't really understand what she meant at the time but now it makes sense. Being Latin myself, I know how passionate we are about EVERYTHING that has to do with being Latino, which will be a great success for me and "Teen Wolf" knowing that I will always be supported by MY PEOPLE! The Latinos!” Heck yeah, he will!
Teen Wolf premieres June 5th following the MTV Movie Awards. MTV has just released the full trailer for the new series, and it looks amazing! Check it out below!
