EXCLUSIVE: Sara Ramirez on the Female Body: “There Isn't Just One Figure”

The lovely Sara Ramirez was one of the many celebs who joined us last night to celebrate Latina’s 15th Anniversary party at Universal Studios in Hollywood. The Mexican actress—who looked like the picture of class in a subtle, but sexy Eva Franco dress—spoke to Latina.com on the red carpet about the evolution of her personal style.

“I can appreciate the evolution of anyone’s style, which sometimes can be mood dependent,” said the Grey's Anatomy star. “From time to time I like to give a rocker edge, sometimes I like to pick a more sophisticated outfit and a lot of times the event itself will dictate what you’re supposed to wear.”

While Sara admitted that her personal style changes constantly (“I can be a bit of a chameleon”), she also said that she's keen on choosing outfits that compliment her voluptuous figure. “At the end of the day I’m 5’9, tall—I’m not tiny,” Sara says. "By Hollywood standards I'm considered a more statuesque woman and that will sometimes effect what's available to wear," she explains.

Sara added that her favorite designers are those who design clothes for all types of women. “I really appreciate when a designer embraces lots of different body types," Sara said. "They understand different womens’ figures. There isn't just one figure,” she said.

And finally, Sara said comfort always trumps style.“As I get older I’ve realized that I want to look cute, but I want to be comfortable," she said. "I don’t want my feet to hurt by the end of the night. It's just not worth it!”
