ESPN broadcaster Bob Griese was reprimanded by the sports channel after making racist remarks with regards to superstar NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya. While commentating during Saturday's Ohio State-Minnesota football game, a promotion for NASCAR pictured the top five drivers, but Montoya wasn't one of them. Fellow analyst Chris Spielman asked where the Colombian race car driver was and Griese responded, "Out having a taco." Later on during the same broadcast, Griese apologized for the idiotic remark, but the damage had been done.

ESPN has suspended Griese for a week and issued a public apology calling the remark, "inappropriate."  When Montoya was asked about the controversy later on he brushed it off, saying, "I don't even know who he is. Somebody mentioned it to me. I don't really care, to tell you the truth. I could say I spent the last three hours eating tacos, but I was actually driving the car."
