The 67th Emmy Awards were full of surprises and a big first.

The shows that reigned in the most wins were Game of ThronesVeep and Olive KitteridgeViola Davis became the first African-American to win the best lead actress in a drama for the hit series How to Get Away With Murder

"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there."

Some celebrities in attendance included Sofia VergaraGina Rodriguez, and Lady Gaga. The comedian Tracy Morgan also made a return to the Emmys stage after suffering a brain injury due to his involvement in a tragic car accident.
