'El Show de Cristina' Coming to an End

cristinaonline.com

First Oprah, and now Latin America's own Cristina Saralegui. There is going to be a big void left in Spanish talk television now that the legendary host of El Show de Cristina has announced that she is quitting while she is at the top of her game.

After more than 20 years on the air, Saralegui said that this would be the last season of her beloved talk show. The finale will air Monday, November 1 on Univision and the network has indicated that they will keep Saralegui on hand to host specials in the future.

Saralegui said in a statement to the press: "I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to host El Show de Cristina over the past 20 years and work with the incredible people at Univision. It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career."

Now that both Cristina and Oprah are bowing out, it got us thinking that now might be the perfect time for a new Latina to step in and feel the void! Tell us:

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
