This week, the contestants of Dancing with the Stars lit up the stage — Cirque du Soleil-style.
Former NFL star Calvin Johnson and his partner Lindsay Arnold knew they had to take their performance to new heights this week – which meant an almost-flying acrobatic movie. The duo took on the Charleston, and the judges were thrilled with the results. A bonus: The athlete-turned-dancer revealed he’s shedding a lot of weight during his sweat sessions on DWTS.
This week, actress Maureen McCormick got a little emotional during a practice session with partner Artem Chigvintsev. We saw McCormick express her frustration on dancing issues and feeling like a failure during practice. Nevertheless, she and Chigvintsev took on the Argentine tango. At the end of the performance, the actress kept the tears rolling, reflecting on how happy she is to be on the show.
Jana Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko kept the heat rolling with the Foxtrot to “Here Comes the Sun”. The performance was quite romantic and dream-like, but hopefully had enough love in it to grant her into next week’s rounds.
This week, Marilu Henner revealed she has an awesome memory advantage, which helps her remember any day from her entire life, but that doesn’t necessarily help her remember her dance moves with partner Derek Hough. The two took on a Cirque-style “paso doble” – a dramatic, Broadway-like dance that helped Henner get in touch with her footwork.
Last week, Amber Rose got upset after hearing judge Julianne Hough refer to her body as too sexy and feel “uncomfortable” with her moves with partner Maks Chmerkovskiy. This week, though, the star was all about embracing her sexuality for Zumanity. After the sexy performance, Amber Rose apologized to Hough for possibly misunderstanding her comments.
Babyface happily took on The Beatles Love show this week for song “Come Together”. The intimate performance showed just Babyface and his partner Allison Holker in the spotlight for the tango dance.
