This week’s Dancing with the Stars was a nostalgic blast from the past. Each contestant looked back on where they came from before hitting the stage.
Jana Kramer kicked off the week with some heart-wrenching discussions regarding her family life and her ex-husband. She and partner Gleb Savchenko took on the quickstep together.
Later, during their trio performance, the duo danced it out to a “good cop, bad cop” performance.
To no one’s surprise, Calvin Johnson’s childhood was all things sports. This week, he and partner Lindsay Arnold danced the tango to “Seven Nation Army”.
Later, the team brought on DWTS veteran Witney Carson for the salsa, which earned them a perfect score.
This week, Laurie Hernandez had one historic, emotional performance. Before heading to the stage, the gymnast discussed just how much her family sacrificed for her career – noting that her grandmother, in particular, was one of her main motivations. The show then revealed that her grandmother passed away just after the interview where the young star talks about how much she misses her. Through tears, Hernandez took the stage with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, dancing the Foxtrot to Tori Kelly’s “Hollow”. The performance earned the team yet another perfect score.
Later, the team brought on Val’s brother, Maks, for the samba.
