WATCH: 'Devious Maids' Promo Warns, "Keep Your Friends Close, But Your Maids Closer"

Devious Maids is ready to serve up the juicy drama Desperate Housewives fans have been longing for. The new Marc Cherry series, starring a Latina cast of leads including: Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez, Dania Ramirez, and Ana Ortiz, officially premieres on Lifetime Sunday, June 23.

The show, executive produced by Eva Longoria, depicts the lives of women who work as maids for rich families in Beverly Hills. In the new promo, the ladies are featured working the room of a fancy mansion and a voice warns viewers, "Keep your friends close, and your maids closer."

When the series was initially announced, the Devious Maids script was criticized for perpetuating stereotypes about Latinos while some argued that it created some much-needed diversity to the primetime line-up.

In an exclusive interview with Latina, Reyes addressed the issue, "This story needs to be told. It’s an opportunity to create genuine characters for real people who actually do this work in real life." She also added, "My mother was a housekeeper and a nanny for years. Should she be ashamed of that type of work that she did? I don’t think so."

As the poster suggests, "Whoever holds the dirt, holds the power." One thing is for sure, this is one of the most entertaining promos we have seen in a while!
