'CSI: Miami' Fires Eddie Cibrian

News broke yesterday that Eddie Cibrian, 37, was let go from his role as a series regular on CSI: Miami as CBS decided not to renew his contract. Last June, Cibrian replaced Adam Rodriguez, 35, when Adam—who played fan favorite Eric Delko on the show—quit the series over contentious contract negotiations. But fans never warmed up to Cibrian or his character, Jesse Cardoza, an officer from the Hollywood division who joined Horatio’s (David Caruso) team. In February, it was announced that Rodriguez—who was absent for most of the show's 8th season—would return to the show full-time when the 9th season begins next September. Word is producers wanted to refocus the show back on the original cast.

Cibrian has had a rough go of it lately. His ex-wife Brandi Glanville sat down for an interview with E News! last week to talk about his scandalous affair with singer LeAnn Rimes last week and revealed that the Cuban actor also had a three-year fling with a cocktail waitress while she was pregnant with their second son Jake, 2. "To find out that whole time that he was doing that—it just made me sick," said Glanville.

Cibrian, who was married to Glanville for eight years and has two children with her (elder son Mason is 6) says he regrets hurting his ex-wife, but still doesn't seem sorry for the decisions he's made. "I can't change the past and I'm truly sorry that people got hurt along the way; but not everything reported in the media is reality and continuing to rehash things publicly only makes it more difficult for everyone to heal," he said in a statement. "I hope for the sake of our children we can all move forward and heal privately. I wish their mother nothing but the best."
