Actor Danny Pino retired his role as Detective Scotty Valens on Cold Case, but he's back and ready to add some diversity to the primetime fall line-up on Law & Order: SVU. The 38-year-old will be replacing Chris Meloni's role for the 13th season premiere this September.
Why we love him:
- He has acting skills and Madonna's reference to prove it! Danny worked with the Material Girl on a London play titled "Up For Grabs."
- Besides being SVU's newest star and Latino lead, the Miami native also played the iconic role of Desi Arnaz for the 2003 made-for-tv film Lucy, based on comedian Lucille Ball's life. A couple of years later, Danny received plenty of buzz for his role as a Mexican druglord on FX's The Shield.
- He may be playing a bad ass detective solving gruesome sex crimes, but Danny is a family man in real life. Danny got hitched to his (lucky) wife Lily in 2002, and they have two sons Luca Daniel and Julian Franco.
