This is a rarity: A movie portraying a marriage between a Latino (Andy Garcia) and a white person (Meg Ryan) that doesn’t spend time exploiting cultural differences for laughs. It’s simply a drama about a man trying to save his wife, and his marriage, from alcoholism. That’s universal.
