ABC Family Cancels 'Bunheads'

The Hollywood Reporter

Sad news for Bunheads. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ABC Family drama has been canceled. The show, centered on a Las Vegas showgirl who winds up teaching alongside her mother-in-law at her ballet school, was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the same woman behind the still-beloved Gilmore Girls.

An ABC Family spokesperson released a statement about the canceled series, describing it as a “wonderful series that we are very proud to have aired.”

“The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base. Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn’t possible,” the spokesperson said. “We wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors.”
