The Black Eyed Peas have just scored their biggest gig ever.
The urban/hip hop group, which has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, has been tapped to headline the most-coveted TV performance spot of the year—the half time show at the 2011 Super Bowl!
The news couldn't come at a better time for the BEP's, who are releasing their new album, The Beginning, on Nov. 30.
"You should expect deeper, a little bit darker electro beats and a little bit more of relationship issues on this one," Fergie said of the new album. "A lot of funny stuff, as well."
We're happy to see urban performers headlining the Super Bowl again. Fergie will be the first minority woman to headline a half time performance at the Super Bowl since Janet Jackson came out of her dress at the 2004 championship game.
107 million people are expected to watch the Super Bowl, which is slated to air on Feb. 6, 2011.
