According to Ok!, Ana Ortiz gets serious in a interview with Entertainment Tonight (airing Friday). The Ugly Betty actress discusses her partnership with “Tell a Gal P.A.L.," the Allstate Foundation's domestic violence program for victims of abusive relationships. Women often don’t have anyone to turn to when they’re being abused, which can lead to them staying in a dangerous situation.
Ortiz can relate since she was previously in a scary relationship with an abuser who once choked her in public. "I was really lucky. My gal pal was my mom," Ana says. “She recognized the signs and she was able to sit me down and make me understand that it didn't have anything to do with me."
"It wasn't my fault, but I did need to get out of it immediately," she continues. "I was lucky enough to have someone to turn to, somewhere to go, and I worry that people don't, that women don't."
Thankfully, Ortiz is now finding success personally and professionally—she’s happily married to musician Noah Lebenzon and, as we know, starring on a hit show. Speaking of Ugly Betty, did you guys watch the season premiere? What did you think?
