After a soulful performance of Alicia Keys' song "Fallin'," we thought for sure that Jessica Sanchez would end up at the top on American Idol's elimination show. Still, after last week's elimination scare when she ended up in the bottom three, she must have been at least a little worried last night. But her fans saved her from elimination and she got to relax for the rest of the night.
The same can't be said for Colton Dixon, who shocked many by being in the bottom three for the first time this season. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't saved and was the next person to leave Idol.
But there's good news for Jessica Sanchez: she might get even better in the coming weeks! Interscope Records exec Jeremy Iovine, and her mentor on American Idol, admitted that he's been partly to blame for Jessica failing to connect with viewers as much as she could be. "These songs are too old for her," he said, and assured everyone that he'd be choosing wisely next time.
She's already doing such a great job but we can't wait to hear her try something a bit younger and more fun!
