Boricua actress Adamari López has made it to the Mira Quién Baila finals! According to People en Español, the 40-year-old telenovela star has secured the possibility of winning the reality dancing competition. Her fellow compatriot Erik Estrada and Mexican American actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez (William Levy’s ex) have to rely on the audience’s votes to continue on.
“Ready to rock n’ roll the stage of @MiraQuienBaila …. Wish me luck #teamadamari,” López posted on Twitter last night, accompanying a gorgeous image of herself in a nude-colored outfit accented with blue and burgundy flowers. People en Español reports that each contestant had to perform three dances and López was saved after one of the later rounds.
Each Mira Quién Baila contestant got the chance to speak about their progress via recorded videos and according to People en Español, López declared herself the winner of the competition. Only time will tell her fate on the dancing competition show, but we love a confident chica!
On a more serious note, López recently spoke to AOL Latino about her struggle with the costs of treatment for her breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with several years ago. “When I got sick, I didn’t have a medical insurance in the U.S. that would cover my disease and it can be very costly,” she said.
The actress said she was able to cope with help she received, but not everyone has that same opportunity. Should López win on Mira Quién Baila, the actress’ charity of choice, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, will receive the grand prize money.
