The 7 Funniest Latino Stars on TV This Fall!

Ten years ago, Latinos were featured in just four comedies: The George Lopez Show, Will & Grace, That 70’s Show, and Scrubs. Meet the Latinos who will have you—and all of America—laughing this fall!

Aubrey Plaza, 27

Show: Parks and Recreation (season premiere Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC)

As April, Amy Poehler’s slothful college intern in the parks and recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Ind., half–Puerto Rican actress Aubrey Plaza never does any work and has exactly one face: a straight face. Moved by nothing and annoyed by nothing, April is indifferent to just about everything, which is supposed to reflect the state of youth today. An alum of New York City’s Upright Citizens Brigade (the theater group known for its improv and sketch comedy where others, like Poehler, have cut their teeth) this self-proclaimed “improv dork” adds a dose of snark to a show that satirizes this country’s highly bureaucratic system. She and Oscar Martinez from The Office would have lots to talk about!

Famous funny words: “My mom’s Puerto Rican—that’s why I’m so lively and colorful” (she says this in a monotone voice and a blank expression).
